Featured Content Section

Give special attention to select posts by adding them to the featured content section. The featured content section will display on your site’s front page directly above the post content.

Grid Layout

If your front page is set to show recent posts, Simfo will use the grid layout shown in the image above. In the event that you use a static page to display recent posts, a blog style layout will be used instead.

Featured Images

Simfo’s grid-style layout relies heavily on featured images, and looks best when you assign one to each of your posts.

If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder.

Custom Menu

The Primary Menu is located at the top of the theme, directly under your site’s title and tagline.

Custom Header

Simfo supports a flexible height and width custom header image.

Custom Background

Spruce up your site with a custom background color or image.

Widgets

Simfo provides 5 total widget areas grouped into 3 sections:

  1. Sidebar: Displays in post, page, archive, and search templates.
  2. Front Page: Displays in the front page template below the featured content area.
  3. Footer: Displays above the footer in all templates.

Please note: Front Page sidebar is not available when your Front Page is set to “latest posts”.

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels)

  1. The main column width is 633 except in the full-width layout where it’s 980.
  2. The sidebar width is 253.
  3. The suggested header image size is 980 wide by 240 tall.
  4. The suggested image size for the featured content section is 980 wide by 415 tall.
  5. The suggested image size for the grid layout is 400 wide by 240 tall.

Featured Content Section

To enable this section:

  1. Navigate to Customize.
  2. Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content”.
  3. Enter the name of a tag.
  4. Click the blue “Save and Publish” button at the top.

Once a tag name has been saved, posts assigned with this tag will appear in the featured content section. You can specify an image to be displayed with each post by setting a featured image.

Grid Layout

If your front page is set to show recent posts, Simfo will use the grid layout shown in the image above. In the event that you use a static page to display recent posts, a blog style layout will be used instead. Note: posts tagged for the featured content section will not appear in the grid layout.

If no featured image is assigned, Simfo will attempt to pull the first attached image in your post. Find out how to attach an image to your post here.

If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder. Placeholders will not be shown when viewed on smaller screens.
