Owari is a theme designed to document your adventures. With a distinctive layout and a strong focus on photography, Owari is an intriguing choice for a travel blog.

A Flexible Blog Design

Owari looks best when Featured Images are set on every post. Setting a post as sticky will not only pin it to the top of your blog, but also double the width of the post and display additional information.

Showcase your most important work with Sticky Posts, while non-sticky posts cascade nicely down the side. This makes Owari a great choice for bloggers and photographers alike.

Owari will not crop the height of your Featured Images, granting you unparalleled flexibility when it comes to shaping your blog’s layout.

Multiple Color Schemes

Is the theme’s default color scheme not your style? We’ve included a few free featured color palettes to inspire you — or choose your own colors with the WordPress.com Premium or Business plan.

Attractive On Any Device

Owari is a responsive WordPress theme, meaning its layout will adapt for an optimal viewing experience depending on the type of device it is accessed from.

Tablet view will push the sidebar below the main content area, giving your content more room to breathe.

Mobile view will make posts flow in a single column and collapse all navigation into a single toggle button.

Featured Images

Owari will display Featured Images for posts on your blog index page, archive pages, and search results. On Owari, two image sizes — a “standard” size (336 pixels wide, unlimited height) and a “large” size (684 pixels wide, unlimited height) — are used prominently.

The “large” size, which is double the width of the “standard” size, is reserved for sticky posts.

Sticky Posts

In addition to the usual behavior of sticky posts displaying before other posts, they also have a strikingly different appearance compared to their non-sticky counterparts.

The appearance of sticky posts on the blog index page differ from normal posts in these ways:

  • Double the width of non-sticky posts.
  • A larger font for the post heading, date published, and author.
  • A relevant icon preceding the post date and author name.
  • Display a post excerpt

The Post Visibility support page explains how to set a Sticky post.

Widgets

Owari has one area to display widgets, in the sidebar.

Call to Action Widget

A Call to Action widget can be seen at the top of our demo site’s widget area. You can set one up yourself using some basic HTML.

<p style="text-align:center;"><a href="https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/owari/" class="button">Buy This Theme</a></p>

Some notes:

  • The profile-picture class, as seen on the image restricts the image width to a maximum of 216 pixels. It does not round the image.
  • The button class, as seen on the link, can be used anywhere you would like Owari‘s button styles to be applied.
  • In the text widget options, don’t select the option to automatically apply paragraphs, since the paragraphs are already coded in the HTML.

Social Menu

Owari features a Social Links Menu in the header.

It supports the following social networks:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • Google+
  • Dribbble
  • GitHub
  • Tumblr
