Oslo is a stunning blend of refinement and organization. It’s a mature two-column theme fit for portfolio and general blog use, built around a supremely customizable sidebar and beautiful typography.
Oslo is fully responsive and scales to fit a device and browser of any size. Its two-column layout will double your blog’s visual impact. On larger screens, your posts will be displayed side-by-side with metadata cleanly tucked away. Oslo’s sidebar is masterfully organized and hugely customizable. Add as much or as little info as you’d like, upload a Custom Header Image to serve as the background image for the sidebar, and adjust Oslo’s menu opacity to create the perfect panel. We’ve detailed your options below.
Branding your site and building an unmistakable online identity are important. One great benefit of Oslo is the ability to display a logo in place of a site title.
You have a lot of room to exercise your design muscles in Oslo’s sidebar. The theme uses the Custom Header Image feature to serve as a background image for your sidebar. Upload a new image, or select an existing one from your Media Library. The right choice will give your site character and set the perfect tone.
You can control the color of text in the sidebar. While the menu’s text will always be white (to optimize readability), you can adjust the color of your site’s title and description.
You can change how much of your sidebar background image shows through by adjusting the transparency of the menu background in the Customizer. If you’ve set a sidebar image, the menu will appear as a dark overlay.
Social Media Links
We know it’s important to keep your audience informed and connected. Oslo also gives you the option of adding social media links to the bottom of the sidebar.

All of Oslo‘s settings can be adjusted in the Customizer. To launch the Customizer, log in to your dashboard and select Appearance → Customize from the left-hand menu. Then, you can customize your site using the blue bar on the right-hand side of your screen.
To set your logo, select Theme in the Customizer. Next, upload your logo image with the upload tool under the Logo heading.
If you’d like to display the logo by itself, open the Site Title tab and make sure the “Display Header Text” box is unchecked.
To set a sidebar background image, select Header in the Customizer. Here, you can add a new image, or select an existing one from your Media Library. Note: the background image will be resized to fill the entire sidebar, so make sure it’s a large image! (1200×1200 pixels is a good place to start. You’ll have the chance to crop once it’s uploaded.)
To make the sidebar background image semi-transparent, select Theme in the Customizer, and use the Header Image Opacity selector.
To change the sidebar text color, select the Colors tab and use the Header Text Color tool. Keep in mind that this doesn’t change the menu’s text color, which always stays white to optimize readability.
To hide or show the site title and description, open the Site Title tab and check the “Display Header Text” box.
The menu will always display as white text on a black background, but you can change how much of your sidebar background color or image shows through.
To adjust the transparency of the menu background, select Theme in the Customizer, and use the Menu Background Opacity selector.
If you have a sidebar background image, you can also choose to apply a blur effect when the menu is open. Select Theme and check the Blur Menu Background box. If you haven’t set a background image, this setting won’t have any effect.
Social Media Links
Oslo also gives you the option of adding social media links to the bottom of the sidebar.
To add a link, select Theme in the Customizer. Here, you’ll see a number of text boxes where you can enter your links. For some social links, you can enter either a URL or your username. For example, if you’d like to add your Twitter profile, enter
