Want to highlight some of your posts? Consider using the Featured Content tag to your standard posts. It will add your posts to the carousel on the homepage.

Featured Images

Want to highlight your visual content? Consider adding a Featured Image to your posts. Featured images appear above the content on the blog index and archive pages.

Connect

Nurture allows you to add links to your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Tumblr accounts to the theme’s footer.

Custom colors

Nurture is designed to work seamlessly with Custom Colors and the Custom Design upgrade. Are the current colors not your style? We’ve included a few featured color palettes to inspire you, or you can choose your own.

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels)

  1. The main column width is 940.
  2. A widget area width is 300.

Homepage Image Carousel

  1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
  2. Enter the name of a tag.
  3. Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.

Once a tag name has been saved, posts having this tag will appear in the featured content section. You can specify an image to be displayed with each post by setting a featured image. The suggested size for featured images is 175 pixels wide and 100 pixels high.

Connect

If you take a look at the demo site, you will see a Twitter icon in the footer linking to our profile on Twitter. You can also add profiles to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Tumblr. To set this up for your own site, first connect these services to Publicize by going to Settings → Sharing. Once connected, navigate to the Customizer, where you’ll find a new Connect panel. Select the account(s) you want to link to, and their respective icons will appear.

Custom Header Image

Add a Custom Header Image to your site by going to Appearance → Header.

First, upload a new image or choose one from your Media Library. Once uploaded, you will have the opportunity to crop the image and set a few more options.

Note: Nurture works best with custom header images that are 940 pixels wide and at least 185 pixels high.

Search Form

If you take a look at the demo site, you will see a search form in the top right of the main menu. To set this up for your own site, visit the Customizer and click on “Theme Options.” Tick the checkbox next to “Show search form in header,” and click “Save.”

Custom Menu

Configure a Custom Menu that will display in the header of your site by going to Appearance → Menus and assigning it to the Primary Menu area. This menu will display your pages if no custom menu is set.
