Your Home Page — However You Want It
The Massive Press theme includes a unique 3-column home page template that is powered entirely by WordPress widgets. This means that you can configure your home page however you want it by mixing any number of available content widgets. The home page on the Massive Press theme demo uses just 2 different featured content widgets that are also included with the theme.
Massive Press includes a responsive layout, which means that it will look and function perfectly on any screen — mobile to desktop.
The theme customizer can be used to customize almost every aspect of the Massive Press theme including the Colors, Fonts, Header, Background Image, Menus, Logo and Layout Options.

Adding content to the Home Page
Your new home page should now be displaying, however, it probably looks a little bare. This is because the Massive Press home page primarily relies on widgets. You start adding widgets to the home page by going to Appearance > Widgets. The theme demo only uses two different widgets, the Featured Posts widget and Featured Posts Slider widget, both custom built for Massive Press.
Massive Press includes two custom featured content widgets, both shown on the home page of the theme demo.
- Massive Press: Featured Posts
- Massive Press: Featured Image Slider
Featured Posts Widget
Use the “Featured Posts” widget to add a list of featured posts from a specific tag to any sidebar area. To use this widget, simply add the name of the Tag in which you want to display posts that have been tagged accordingly. This widget has additional options to display the post thumbnail and excerpt.
Use the “Featured Image Slider” to showcase posts from a specific tag in a responsive image slider. To use this widget, simply add the name of the Tag in which you want to display posts that have been tagged accordingly.
A Featured Image must be set for the Post in order for it to display in the featured image slider.
Theme options can be found via the WordPress customizer. The settings within the customizer can be used to customize almost every aspect of Massive Press including the Colors, Fonts, Header, Background Image, Menus, Logo and Layout Options.
To find theme options specific the Massive Press, go to Appearance > Customize > Theme.
Add a custom logo image which can be used to replace the standard text based logo.
The Massive Press theme includes 3 different layout options that allow you to change where your sidebars are located in relation to your main content. The option selected here will determine the order in which the content will be displayed on the page, if available.
The “Sidebar 1” and “Sidebar 2” areas will reflect the widgets setup in each of these widget locations via Appearance > Widgets. If a widget area does not have widgets, the main content area will become larger, spanning the width of the widget areas space.
Site Search Location
Massive Press also gives you the option to display a search form at the top or bottom of your site. This is achieved by selected one of three menu locations in which the search form should be displayed. The option selected here will display a search form along with that areas menu items.
