Demo Setup of Magazine Front Page widgets

Featured Posts Slideshow
The Magazine Front Page Template supports a beautiful Featured Posts Slider which displays the latest posts with a tag you’ve configured. To set up the slider, go to Appearance → Customize, and add a tag under Tag Name in the Featured Content section. The slideshow will then display all posts which are tagged with that keyword.
Next, activate the slider on the Magazine Front Page template by checking the box in the Customizer, in the Theme section.
Use Featured Images
Dynamic News makes heavy use of featured images as thumbnails on the Magazine Front Page template. The Featured Posts Slider and all Category Posts widgets will look as intended when your posts have featured images.
WordPress.com will generate all required image sizes automatically when you upload an image. Your uploaded images should have a minimum image size of 880×290 pixels in order to look good at any screen size. The slider will show a grey image placeholder in case you haven’t set a featured image.
You can learn how to set featured images for posts on the Featured Images support page.

You can configure some basic theme options under Appearance → Customize, including some settings specific to Dynamic News.

You can choose between a wide or boxed layout width and between a default left or right sidebar.
- Header Content
Add a header text line and turn on/off the header social icons and header search field.

Social icons are easy to add with Dynamic News. Create a new custom menu called “Social Icons” on Appearance → Menus and add custom Links to all your favorite social network websites. Next, assign your social menu to the Social Icons location in the theme.
The theme will automatically detect the URLs of your menu links and show the appropriate icon using Genericons, supporting all social icons that are part of this icon font. If you add a link to an unsupported website a default icon will be used.
You can display Social Icons in your header area through the Theme Customizer, by heading to the Theme section and checking off “Display Social Icons on header area.” You can also use the Social Icons Widget to display your social icons.
