Without a doubt, our favorite part of Creative Portfolio — and the thing we hope you’ll love most — is its front page template and super-versatile featured content slider. We’ve built both to be fully responsive and beautiful on all of your devices and made sure to address a lot of your business needs when crafting a home page for your website.
Page Templates To Suit All Needs
You’ll find many page templates available to you in Creative Portfolio. Here are some of the most useful templates you’ll find in the theme:
Custom Website Layout Options
Jump into the Customizer and take advantage of the many site layout options that are available to you in Creative Portfolio, like site width, sidebar position, page breadcrumbs, blog content, and blog layout.
Custom Navigation Menus
Two custom site navigation menus are included in Creative Portfolio: a Primary Menu in the site header and a Secondary Menu in the footer.
Custom Site Logo
Creative Portfolio allows you to upload your company’s logo. Use it, along with a Blavatar, to add additional branding into your site.
Two custom widget areas are supported in the theme. These are Sidebar and Footer Widgets.

Step 1: Build Your Home Page
The first and most important steps that you will need to take in order to use the front page template in Creative Portfolio are to create two pages, one for your home page and one for your updates page.
Launch the Customizer and click on the Static Front Page tab on the left.
Select the Static Page option, then choose your new page from the Front Page drop down. The preview window will display your newly selected page as the front page of your site. Select the updates from the Posts page dropdown.

Step 2: Set up Featured Content
Easily feature a set of posts or pages on your site using any existing tag of your choice.

Step 3: Upload Your Site Logo
A custom site logo is supported in Creative Portfolio. The maximum display dimensions for the logo are
500 pixels by
500 pixels. If you would like use a larger image, we suggest using the custom header functionality in the theme instead.

Step 4: Use Your Page Templates
Page templates are special pages that include additional features or custom layouts. Creative Portfolio comes with several custom page templates (listed below) to help you enhance your site, and we’re always adding more. Click on each page template title to learn more about it, and watch the quick video below to learn how to locate page templates from the Dashboard:
Note: The default template includes an additional widget called Child Pages Navigation in Primary Sidebar widget area if the page has one or more child pages.

Step 5: Learn More
Creative Portfolio supports all of the most common theme features that you’ve become accustomed to on WordPress.com. You’ll find a table of contents of the most useful support documentation available to you for Creative Portfolio below. You can also hop over to the theme video tutorials and demos to get a better idea the theme in action.
Creative Portfolio supports up to two widgets areas: Primary Sidebar and Website Footer. Both the primary sidebar and website footer will be displayed on all pages of your website if you have manually added widgets into your site.
Two custom site navigation menus are supported by Creative Portfolio, Primary Menu and Secondary Menu. Your primary menu will appear at the top of your site and your secondary menu will appear at the bottom of your site.
Note: On mobile devices Primary Menu’s maximum depth level is two, and on desktop devices its maximum link depth level is five.
Creative Portfolio was designed with a grid that has 12 columns and 11 gutters. Each column is approximately 89 pixels wide (max) and each gutter is 10 pixels wide (max). The maximum width that will be occupied by the theme content in Desktop views is 1180 pixels. In mobile views the grid will collapse and all columns will be set to 100%. The Professional Themes Support Policy
If you’re a WordPress.com user who has either purchased Creative Portfolio or subscribed to it via the Business plan and would like to use Guided Transfer or simply move to a self-hosted setup, you will need to obtain a self-hosted license.
Our policy for customers who move away from WordPress.com is that you will need to purchase the theme from us to use it on a self-hosted blog. Simply contact us with your details when you’re ready to move.
Note that if you are within the 30-day refund window for Creative Portfolio on WordPress.com then you can initiate a refund through your Dashboard and then purchase the theme for your self-hosted site.
