Beach brings the warm feel of Thailand’s shores to your blog year round. But the Beach theme isn’t only just sand, sun, and sea. Beach features special post formatting for Aside, Gallery, Quote, and Status posts, along with a beautiful secondary menu area in the header.

Post Formats

You can bring some visual variety to your blog with the Beach theme’s five post formats.

  1. Standard: used for your standard blog posts.
  2. Aside: perfect for shorter posts that are only a few lines long and don’t need a large title on your home pages, archives, or search pages.
  3. Gallery: If you’re sharing a bunch of photos in a gallery, use this post format to show a special thumbnail with your post.
  4. Quote: Add a <blockquote> to a post using the Quote post format and your quote will receive a bolder style.
  5. Status: If you want to send out a short personalized update about what you’re currently up to, use a Status post.

Two Header Menus

If you create a short Custom Menu and assign it to the Secondary Menu area in Appearance → Menus Beach will create a beautiful vertical menu in your header.

Typekit Integration

If you want to dress up Beach even more you can easily enable the gorgeous Fertigo Pro using Typekit. You won’t need to edit CSS at all. Beach already contains all the styles it needs for Fertigo.
