Adventure is a beautifully crafted, responsive and retina optimized WordPress theme designed for sharing life adventures. The theme was created with travelers, explorers and adventure related businesses in mind.

Adventure features a full width featured slideshow for showcasing your most important articles. It includes a biography section for sharing social media links and information about you or your company. The theme is compatible with the Google Maps Widget plugin for displaying your location or current whereabouts. In addition, Adventure was constructed from our Seed Theme framework, featuring a variety of useful page templates, featured videos, and much more. The theme is beautifully coded with commenting, and features several theme options for easy customization.

Responsive LayoutOrganic Themes Adventure

Adventure boasts a fluid responsive layout — so your photography will display beautifully across mobile devices. Images and galleries will scale up and down seamlessly when resizing the browser window. Whether viewing the photo blog on the phone, or presenting work to a client on a tablet, you can feel confident Adventure will maximize the viewing experience.

Home Page Template

Adventure features a Home Page Template that displays a slideshow of Featured Images from any post category specified in the Theme Options. In addition, you can optionally display a featured page and Widgets beneath the slideshow within the Theme Options.

Full Width Blog

Displaying large images in their full glory on the blog is a breeze! If you don’t want a sidebar with widgets on your blog — don’t add any. It’s that simple. The blog will look spectacular with or without widgets.

Many other goodies you’ve come to know and love with WordPress are also available with Adventure — including the Custom Header and Background, Custom Menus, Widgets, Full Width Page Template and more.

Page Templates

In addition to the Home Page Template, Adventure offers a Full Width Template, Site Archives Template and a Three Column Template for displaying a sidebar on each side of your content.  Adventure also includes a Three Column Category Page Template which automatically adapts to the size of your content. Page Templates can be applied in the Page Attributes.

Main Logo

  1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize.
  2. Choose “Theme” from the Customizer sidebar.
  3. Click Logo.
  4. Follow on-screen instructions.

Using the Home Page Template

  1. Create a Page, preferably titled “Home.
  2. Set the Home template within the Page Attributes.
  3. Navigate to Settings  Reading within the Dashboard.
  4. Choose the option to display a static page for the Front page.
  5. Select your newly created “Home” page from the Front page drop down list.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Setting Up a Blog Page

  1. Create a Page, preferably titled “Blog.
  2. Navigate to Settings  Reading within the Dashboard.
  3. You should already have the option to display a static page under “Front Page Displays.”
  4. Select your newly created “Blog” page from the Posts page drop down list.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Homepage Image Gallery

  1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
  2. Enter the name of a Tag.
  3. Click the blue Save button at the bottom.

Once a Tag name has been saved, posts having this tag will appear in the featured content section. You can specify an image to be displayed with each post by setting a Featured Image. The suggested size for featured images is 980 pixels wide and 520 pixels high.

Using the Slideshow Page Template

  1. Create a Page.
  2. Set the Slideshow template within the Page Attributes.
  3. Click Add Media to upload your images to the page.
  4. Once uploaded, select Uploaded to this page from the drop down menu in the Media Library tab.
  5. You may then drag and drop the images in the order you like.
  6. Close the window and Publish or Update the page.

Note: You do not need to insert the images in to the page. Images uploaded to the Media Library of the page will automatically be added to the slideshow.

Adding Social Media Icons

  1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Theme.
  2. Enter links to your social media profiles within the appropriate fields.
  3. Click the blue Save button at the bottom.

Note: Social media icons will be displayed with a link to the profile within the featured page section on the home page template, and within the footer of the theme.

Three-Column Page Template

  • When creating a new Page, set the Three Column template within the Page Attributes.
  • Be sure to add widgets to both “Left Sidebar” and “Right Sidebar” under Appearance → Widgets.

If “Read More” link on “Home Featured Page” does not point to correct page

If your “Read More” link on the homepage does not link to the selected static page, but instead links back to the homepage, check the following:

  1. Under Settings → Reading, be sure your static front page (e.g. About) is not the same as the page chosen under Customize → Theme.
  2. Likewise, under Customize → Theme, be sure the static page (e.g. About) from the drop-down under Home Featured Page is not the same as the page chosen under Settings → Reading.
