Button is a theme that’s as cute as its name. With detailed accents, featured images, and a soft color palette, Button is perfect for crafters and designers alike.

Post Excerpt

The Button theme automatically displays only the first few lines of of your post and inserts a “Continue Reading” link to your full blog post page. You also have the option to create custom excerpts to display here instead of the first few lines.

Featured Images

Button supports Featured Images on your main blog and archive pages, with detailed accents at the corners for a sweet, vintage look:

Gallery Post Format

Posts with the Gallery Post Format are given special treatment on your blog and archives with a custom slideshow, so readers can preview your chosen images:

Custom Background

Background Options

Background Options

Button allows you to add a custom background image or color under Customize → Colors & Backgrounds.

To keep the default background pattern but change the color, go to Customize → Colors & Backgrounds, hover over the background pattern and click Change, then Options. Here you can click on the Underlying Color option and change it to whatever you like.

Note: Your custom background will only display on tablets or large screens to give your content room and keep it readable.

Social Links

With the Button theme, you can display links to your social media profiles in the top of your sidebar by creating a Social Links Menu.

Optional Sidebar

You can add widgets to the Primary Sidebar from Customize → Widgets. If no widgets are added, Button automatically becomes a one-column, tumblelog-style theme.

Button also supports the following features:

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels):

  1. The main column width is 662 with an active sidebar, and as wide as 982 without an active sidebar.
  2. The main sidebar width is 245.
  3. Featured Images are displayed at 662 with flexible height, or 982 wide without an active sidebar.
  4. The site logo appears at a maximum width and height of 400.
  5. The custom header appears at a maximum width of 982; the height is flexible.
