Vintage Kitchen is perfect for a food- and kitchen-oriented blog theme. What’s so special about this theme is, as you can see, the brilliant look of it! It has fun and colorful—yet balanced—illustrations, script typeface, and subtle textures. Together, all of these design features set your food blog apart from others. The theme also features four theme styles and support for a custom header image, a custom menu, and a maximum four widget areas.

Theme Styles

Vintage Kitchen is shipped with four theme styles: Citrus, Pear, Cupcake, and Tea. Each of them has a different header illustration and color scheme. Choose one that fits your blog and if you want to you can add your illustration or image in Appearance → Header.

Widgets

Vintage Kitchen supports four widget areas — one in sidebar and a maximum three in the footer.

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels):

  1. The main column width is 615 except in the full-width layout where it’s 852.
  2. Right sidebar width is 210.
  3. The custom header image is 580 by 140 (width, height).

Add Your Own Custom Header Image

Go to Appearance -> Header in your blog’s dashboard. If you do not see the option, this means that your current theme does not support the use of a custom image header. Please refer to the list of supported themes at the bottom of this page.

You can either browse for the file on your computer and then click the Upload button.

Or you can choose an existing image from your Media Library.

Important: Only .jpeg, .gif, and .png files can be used. All cropped images will be converted to jpegs. Using an image of exactly the right size will produce the best results, and this is certainly recommended. To preserve transparency in an image use a .gif or .png image of exactly the right size.

If you uploaded an image that doesn’t match the exact dimensions of your current theme’s header, you will need to crop it.

Just select the portion of the image that you’d like to use for the header, then click Crop and Publish.

Once you see the Header Updated message below, you can visit your site to see how it looks.
