Nowadays users are visiting sites from an increasing array of devices and browsers. Magnate Express was built with this in mind, adjusting the layout to accommodate screens of different sizes and orientation.

Slider

Clip content to the top of your homepage with an easy to use Content Slider. The Slider includes an option to select the speed of the animation and an option to select the animation itself – Fade or Slide.

Three Customizable Menus

Magnate Express also has three menu areas: a traditional page menu and a second (optional) top menu. You can take control of these three areas in Appearance → Menus by creating your own custom menus and assigning them to either menu location.

Support for Post Formats

Enhance your site with Post Formats by displaying various types of content. Magnate Express includes support for the Aside, Image, Video, Quote, Link and Chat Post Formats.

Uploading a Logo

You can add a logo Magnate Express header space very easily:

  • Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Theme in your WordPress back-end. [View screenshot]
  • Select an existing image or upload a new one.
  • Hit the “Save” button.

Uploading a Background Image

You can add a background image to your Magnate Express background very easily:

  • Navigate to your Appearance → BG Image in your WordPress dashboard. [View screenshot]
  • Select an existing image or upload a new one.
  • Select “Set as background”.

You can also select a background color instead of a background image in the same options page.

Setting up your Slider

The slider works with regular posts tagged with a special tag that is used by the slider to pull these posts.

  • Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
  • Enter the name of a tag. This is the tag that you will use in your slider posts. [View screenshot]
  • Hit the “Save” button.

You can also change the speed of the slider animation or the animation type in the Customize page. [View screenshot]

Setting up your navigation menus

By default the Magnate Express theme displays one navigation menu in your header space. There is also an optional top and footer navigation.

You can customize these three navigation menus with menus that consist of pages, categories and external links all combined in whatever order you like.

Featured Images (Slider)

On our demo you will see a thumbnail image in every slide. To set this image, you need to add your images to your blog post and then in the “Featured Image” form, to the right of the WYSIWYG editor, select a particular image to be the one used in the slides and as a thumbnail in the post view.

  • Navigate to Posts → Add New to add a new post, add your title and content.
  • Click on Set featured image link in the “Featured Image” panel to the right. [View screenshot].
